   I have become a bit more laid back about UEFI recently.   
      
   While Microsoft will undoubtedly have considerable influence over retail   
   built products, entities such as web-server sites, Google et al still   
   represent a considerable market for the board manufacturers. I wouldn't be   
   surprised if a number of specialists spring up to supply both boards and   
   systems for those of us who refuse to be blackmailed into using Windows 8   
   and later.   
      
   History shows that the market has always been able to out-manoeuvre   
   monopolies.
