|    OT: ext4 or NTFS for external drive?    |
|    13 Nov 12 13:36:31    |
From: TJ@noneofyour.business              Just bought a 1TB external portable drive. Amazing how they can now get       so much stuff on a drive the size of a wallet. But anyway, I'm expecting       to use this drive for semi-archival purposes, and I don't really expect       to need to access it via Windows - but you never know. Not expecting to       want to take it anywhere for others to access it, and it's not likely       that anybody would be using it but me.              I'm leaning toward reformatting in ext4, but Linux is efficient enough       these days that NTFS is a viable option, too - just in case I'm wrong       and I DO need to use Windows to access the data someday.              Any thoughts from you guys?              TJ              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
