     Not at all!  Using the URL you kindly supplied I've just re-watched   
   the video very carefully.   
     First he disables Secure Boot, then boots Ubuntu (mauve screen).   
   Then he muses about what problems might occur if he tries to boot W8.   
   But it boots perfectly, and he concludes "No difference" (i.e. between   
   booting with SB enabled and disabled).   
      
   I don't see anything like the sequence of events you just described!   
      
   Perhaps someone else will tell us what they see...
