The problem for this nephew was exacerbated by the fact that his three
brothers had their birthdays right around the end of June. My sister
"solved" the problem by celebrating his "and-a-half" birthday and
dropped his birthday down to a "card" event. Extended family felt it
was a good solution, and went along with it. It reverted to "normal"
when he moved out to join the service just after his 17 1/2th.

My father and my second brother-in-law more or less reversed that.
Dad was born on Easter, and died 4 days after Christmas, while Bob
was born a week after Easter, and died Christmas morning.
