   For my last trip to (mostly) San Diego, I found a group online dealing   
   with places to eat in the SD area, and I asked for suggestions before I   
   left.  I got some great suggestions from people who knew the area (or at   
   least their part of it) well, mainly places even my host (a long-time   
   resident) hadn't heard of.  That worked out really well.
