This would not be a big deal as I bought a new       drive to install to, and Windows7 is a fresh install rather than copy       from other partition.              However, the point is that I am trying to test what works and what       doesn't. As soon as I try a work around, I can no longer test the method       I wanted in first place, so one less person to test for converts to       Linux. I don't have spare hardware to test on.              > Recently i was working on an older system and the       > tools I wanted to use on this old IDE drive would not bite       > on the hard disk. But I know that the GPT is a hard nut to crack.              Knoppix is a good "disaster" recovery tool, I used it mostly to fix       Windows.              > How about an external Windows 8 drive on USB?       > With a Linux drive in the box?              I suppose it's possible.              > Good luck.
