From: stryder@telenet.be.invalid              Since you've managed to transfer everything, I'm only going to comment       on this one thing here below...              On Thursday 07 February 2013 14:56, grimble conveyed the following to       alt.os.linux.mandriva...              > [...] (nor can I log in as postgres, which has no password).              An account which does not have a password set is not the same thing as       an account with a _blank_ password. In fact, the way Ubuntu disables       root login is by not assigning a password to the root account, forcing       the use of sudo to the first user account created during installation in       order to have administration capabilities.              The account postgres is not intended for login. It is a user account       used by the postgresql software. It is however possible if you are       using a display manager (alias "graphical login screen") that postgres       would appear as one of the accounts in the login window. If you are       using KDE however, then you can hide certain user accounts from showing       up in the login window - e.g. you can hide all accounts below a certain       UID, and postgres should have a UID far below that of normal users.              --       = Aragorn =       (registered GNU/Linux user #223157)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
