   That's what I'd also heard about "immunodeficiency", and it's not   
   just the quasi-professionals.

   In many spell-chuckers, 'i' sticks the word into a private dictionary   
   usually in the ~/ as a dot file.  Mine has 2852 words in it now,   
   nearly all technical in nature.
