PowerPack's main claim was the addition of "paid" (non-free) programs
which could be added to the free distro. Mandriva would pay the company
some distribution fee, and then sell it (via the powerpack subscription)
to us. But Mandriva certtainly looks still pretty sick. And the huge
split with many (most) of the people heading out for Mageia (in part
because Mandriva fired them) hurt a lot. And the inability to get
OpenMandriva and Mageia together also hurt. So in many ways Mageia is
now the equivalent of Fedora for Redhat.

It is getting rather long in the tooth.
