   Not sure what his problem is, but the options seemed to be exactly what   
   he needed.   
   -f, --force   
                 ignore nonexistent files, never prompt   
    -r, -R, --recursive   
                 remove directories and their contents recursively   
      
   Of course he might have had problems with exactly what "never prompt"   
   means, or what recursive means.
