OK - your January nmap/netstat post showed eris running those, and they
had a few things open that didn't need to be. Helot running Mandriva
had some possible problems bringing up the wireless.

Being paranoid, I'd at least look at the "netstat -anptu" output.

My concern would be to see that I'm offering nothing unintentionally to
the world - but I do that with all of my workstation installs.

The URI more or less cleared up after about 10 days, during which she
was quarantined in the second bedroom which may have given her a case
of "cabin fever", but the problem was conflicts. When we released her
from quarantine, she went after Marg (who is quite passive) pretty
badly. When Good Sam came running to see WTF, Taz was advancing on
him (and he wasn't backing down). A bit of a pity, as _otherwise_ she
was a nice cat. We returned her, amending her resume to indicate she
needed to be an "only" cat (item was blank originally). URIs seem to
be all to common, as Emma had one as well (to a lesser extent), and
when we got Marg, she also had one. Can't recall if Good Sam and Smokie
had one (checks the health records - wow, that was 10 years ago next
month - Smokie was OK but Good Sam had one also).

Well, they're no longer over magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale. ;-)
There's a bit of adjustment going on, as each is settling in on their
"own" turf. As I write this in the computer room, Good Sam is snoring
away behind me in the kitty nest in the window formerly "owned" by
Smokie, while Marg is in the top floor of a 6' tall kitty condo in the
family room which was Good Sam's second favorite sleeping spot, and
Emma is... crashed in a sunbeam on a window platform in the guest
bedroom. (All but the windows in the kitchen, dining room and second
bathroom have 15 x 45 inch platforms with rug covering - wadda yu mean
   "spoiled"???)

   >Louise seemed to be under the impression that Allegra was a threat,
   >even after ten years together.

Marg is still uncomfortable with her (and vice-versa - some hissing on
unexpected close encounters), but Sam finally said "ENOUGH!" and there
was fur flying followed by a "Break it up" spray from a water bottle
(aimed at both). That seems to have ended (or at least really
   reduced) the button pushing.

That was in the back of my mind - had the meds been reduced since then
and if so, are they putting you back on?

   >BTW comas are worse than nightmares -- at least after a nightmare you
   >know it wasn't real. I'm still sorting out "memories" from then.

The Facilities Manager's secretary went through that mess - some
thoracic surgery, but I don't recall details. She complained about
both unusual memories, and the _lack_ of others - she was somewhat
aware of time passing, but there were a few blank pages she couldn't
   fill in with anything.

When are you expected to be released and to what limitations? The fun
here at the moment is "very high" tree pollen levels which the weather
guessers are suggesting will go down to "medium high" next week.
