   I just booted an old installation (2009 ) and google works fine on the old   
   browser, which would suggest, rather emphatically, that the fault lies with

   Any suggestion as to how Firefox would selectively return errors from only   
   two websites will be eagerly received.   
      
   Remembering I have already tried renaming .mozilla directory to eliminate
