   Yes it is the hidden .signature file and if I remove the extra dashes they   
   return.   
      
   It could have something to do with my attempts to have different signature   
   on Kmail and Knode   
      
   It appears that Knode no longer has an option to add a signature, only Kmail   
   has this option, which defaults to Knode as well. So they have identical   
   signatures either from the signature field or a hidden file   
      
   This was not always the case in the dim dark past the signing was separate   
   and it is a bit frustrating
