   The signature problem has been solved. It was generated by a script creating   
   the error   
      
      
      
   After some trolling about in the config files of both Knode and Kmail it   
   seems that the "User Identity" is shared between both apps and therefore   
   also the signature.   
      
   There is a capability to create multiple users but it isn't obvious how to   
   assign one to mail and the other to news or if it's even possible.   
      
   When I ran Mandriva 10,2  the signatures for posts on Kmail and Knode could   
   be different. It seems to have been amalgamated
