   Where've you been?  That was introduced by Mandriva and carried across.   
   At the time, various people complained it was insecure.  It was pointed   
   out that you can configure it with MCC -> Security -> Configure   
   Authentication for Mageia tools.   
      
   It would be of consequence only in a multi-user environment.
