   Know what you mean there - but shopping around, I've been able to find   
   laptops under $350. It's not the "only" computer in the house, so I

    'sudo -c passwd' and set root's password.   
      
   Problem I have/had with *buntu is the silly a.o.l.ubuntu newsgroup.   
   It's active, but pretty much saturated with trolls and other noise.
