|    Thinking of another install due to probl    |

From: bliss-sf4ever@dslextreme.com               Well later in the week I will be trying to replace Kubuntu 14.04 with       Open Mandriva or Mageia 4.        On my machine the Kubuntu will neither hibernate nor sleep.       Hibernation works ok from a terminal but the icon cannot do it.       This was after taking the steps mentioned online to fix problem.        Sleep loses track of what it is doing and I have to start to       boot from scratch. This scrambles my Kate bookmarks.               Maybe the machine, an HP Pavilion LPTP.15-N225NR, is at fault but i       think the best way to be sure of that is to try other distributions.        Secondly Kubuntu and Canonical have not been smart enough       to adopt the main Control Center as seen originally in Mandriva       and carried on in the distributions I mention above. That makes       working on problems even harder so am intending to go back to       a more copacetic distributions. If PCLOS had made the necessary files       available in their distribution then I would not have installed Kubuntu.       By necessary I refer to the EFI files required by the GPT partitioning       scheme.               If anyone has suggestion please make them shortly.               Thanks for your attention.               bliss              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
