I tried to move it from old HDD into new one (by       ordinary copying).       Everything goes smoothly, and finally both MS-Windows and Mandriva don't refer       to old HDD.       But after old disk disconnecting, Linux begun to growl about "waiting sda",       "timeout 1 min" - all the stuff.       I removed every UUID from /boot/grub directory, and from /etc/fstab in favor       to oldschool sdXN. Than didn't help me.       mkinitrd made incorrect image for me, and I didn't want to investigate that       fact at all.       But, fortunately, I had backuped fstab with old UUIDs.       I picked up those UUIDs and write them into new partitions correspondingly.       That works! 8-)       Note the means to change UUIDs of Linux fs:       swaplabel (for swap)       tune2fs (for ext2/ext3 and ext4)       reiserfstune (for reiserfs)       Gparted doesn't change UUID.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
