|    crypttab and noauto and booting    |

From: unruh@invalid.ca              I am having booting problems on a system with a couple of entries in       /etc/crypttab. The boot pauses for about 2 min at about the time it is       supposed to be looking at those encrypted files so I think it has       something to do with them.              I have entries              crypt_sdb8 UUID=1bd4b79f-e2c6-4bf4-b3f6-26a59165dd7d - noauto       crypt_sdd5 UUID=49ab5ee9-8c18-4f44-9ddd-84503fb58b85 - nofail              Now the second is a usb removeable disk used for backup which is usually       not plugged in during bootup. The first is a       partition on one of the onboard disks.       Why is the system pausing?              Also, /etc/crypttab seems to be a file used by some obscure systemd to       mount encrypted systems at boot (or so the man page says) but says       nothing about how one can use it to mount encrypted partitions AFTER       boot (noauto). (Once again systemd's obscurity rides to the rescue.)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
