   It is really hard to help you since we have no idea what you did. Did   
   you really apply all 49 patches to bash 4.2? How did you apply them?   
   Did you really replace bash with the new one? Are you sure you do not   
   have more than onlycopy and are actually running the old one?   
   If you type   
   bash --version   
   what do you get?
