And I can't get the LiveDVD to boot beyond the bar when the desktop
starts. It stays constant, then the screen turns black with a cursor
visible. I burned the DVD twice. In fairness to them, we have the best
of their developers, and they had to start from scratch, largely.

In reply to your last line, yesterday I found an old blog post by a
user who had advanced from Ubuntu to Arch then Mandriva 2010. With
time it became like "the girl next door." Then he found Mageia, and
thought he had "the girl next door" again. That was pretty accurate
back then. Now OpenMandriva are going their own way, and becoming
   exclusively KDE.
