|    Some problems with Mandriva 2010    |

Hello.        4 years ago I learned to use Mandriva 2010, and I used to use it for backing       up system partitions and similar things. I installed KDE and did some settings       on my account to have good looking environment. Today I had to reinstalled it       because it crashed.        I did not formated the Home partition, but connected to the old settings. My       first real problem in KDE when the system finished instalation was that the       fonts of aplications were theribly big. For instance in mc I have seen only       three files per screen        when I was listing /etc ... So my first question is how to correct this. I       went to settings of graphic server and set reesolution to maximum (1600x1200 I       thing) and the display as well. This did not help.              Then when I have rebooted. I have new problem. The KDE did not start, but I       had to log in manualy as rootšand then I have just shell. How to fix it to log       in as root or another user automatically?              Next problem is that I have set non-english language and I cannot switch it to       english to type pipeline | . Any idea how to do it in Mandriva 2010?              When I tried to startx I got message something like there is not screen or       something similar. Something's wrong with the configuration.              Can you help to fix these problems?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
