   It is not set in the initrd. I currently use vga=0x032 on a Mageia 4   
   install, and it's working. I've tried other values, and have to make   
   a trade off between getting more info on the screen, or having to   
   wear my reading glasses, while in text mode.   
      
   What modes are supported will depend on the video card/chip being used.   
   Use xdpyinfo, while running X to determine the visual id's available,   
   then experiment with them, to decide which is best for you.
