   Hey group,   
      
   I wanted to find out what all this was about, and tried it. Can't get it to   
   run. It seems to crash my KDE windowmanager, and leave me with nothing apart   
   from the windows themselvs......ie, the uppermost bar,   
   with "minimize" "maximize" and "shut down" buttons are gone.   
      
   I read the http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_nVidia_GL_Desktop_Effects and the   
   http://gentoo-wiki.com/Compiz and installed compiled the programmes, and   
   altered my xorg.conf file, as desribed. But when I try out   
      
   compiz-start   
      
   my windowmanager goes away.   
      
   I run KDE 3.5.5, and nvidia 1.0.9755-r1, on xorg-x11 7.2, and xorg-server   
   1.2.0-r3.   
      
   Any tips as to what goes wrong?
