   Hi,   
      
   After some years without gentoo i just wanted to install gentoo per minimal   
   installcd.   
   After going through the whole procedure in wanted to boot but mount the root   
   failed.   
      
    beginners mistake im missed to configure the initrd und saw no sda.   
      
   So i wanted to boot knoppix livecd chroot und reconfigure the Kernel.   
      
   - chroot didn't work ... strange.   
      
   So i booted from install cd .. even worse. As soon as I mount the gentoo root   
   slice it seems the ramdrive fails - ive got no commands ( ls , bash .... ) and   
   the shutdown per ctrl alt delete fails.   
      
   ive checken the partion ... no failures. kill udevd ... nothing ...   
      
   config is   
   Gentoo amd64 with x86_64 kernel.   
      
   I would just like to get what goes wrong und not go the M$ way und restart with   
   installing.
