From: wshekrota@optonline.net              I have a problem after most recent emerge not only setting up the       conf.d/net but starting the adapter. If I use dhclient on the cable       adapter eth0 it comes right up. But if I invoke 'init.d/net.eth0       start' I get a series of repetitive script errors.              This could be fallout from incorrect conf.d/net setup or just       breakage in my emerge after a compiler split. I did do an       emerge -e on system so I'm sure all the core stuff is right.              Let me know if there is a specific package the could be re-emerged       or if need be I can post the changes I made to the conf.d/net file.              The basic layout here is that of a router.       eth0 (cable attached)       eth1 (inward adapter)       dhclient (used on cable)       dhcpd (used for my own network but not running right now)       As I said if I start everything by hand it is working fine so the       system scripts are suspect.              my conf.d/net file is:       config_eth1=( "192.168.0.33 netmask 255.255.255.0 brd 192.168.0.255" )       config_eth0=( "dhcp" )       dhcp_eth0="nodns nontp nonis"                     Thanks for any leads.       -Walt              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
