nvidia-drivers versus xorg.server

   nvidia-drivers now blocks xorg-server-1.4   
   What gives?  Has nvidia-drivers been pulled into xorg-server?   
   Do I have to quit using a portage package to install the nvidia drivers and   
   instead should get the nvidia .run installer from nvidia directly?
