   Thanks for the hint, didn't know that switch.   
   But in the end it was really my mistake. I had thought that I had updated   
   gentoolkit but instead of running emerge -v I had ran emerge -vp a second   
   time, so I was running 0.2.1. Now with gentoolkit 0.2.3 it works as it   
   should.
