   It only fixed the bug if you use glibc-2.7-r2(?). With stable glibc,   
   you still have to apply the patch mentioned in the bug.

   Bugs happen in every distro. The above really is a bug.

   But I doubt that you get all package compiled with gcc-4.3 which is   
   meanwhile almost the case with gentoo...
