However, you are showing a true Gentoo-er       attitude :-)              > Who knows, maybe it will even become my primary system if I like the end       > result. openSUSE might be a damn fine distro (the most stable one I ever       > used besides Slackware), but the "click&go" can sometimes be counter       > productive when you need to make changes the developers didn't account       > for.              I agree on this (otherwise I wouldn't use Gentoo).       But since you said you want to test your software, I was suggesting using       opensuse just for building a (virtual) environment where you could easily       compile and test your software with gcc 4.3 without too many problems.       After all, if you are a developer, most target systems where your software       will run will be binary distros like opensuse, not Gentoo.              However, good luck with your task of setting up gcc 4.3 in Gentoo! I prefer       to wait until it officially gets stable. Remember to check out the Gentoo       wiki and the Gentoo forums, as you can usually find good advice there,       although not to be taken as official documentation.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
