   With all due respect, RTFM.  You told portage to update the system, and   
   that's what it does.  If you don't want a specific update, use   
   portage.mask to block specific packages.  Again: RTFM.

   No, it's not wrong.  You told portage to update, and so it does.  RTFM.

   /usr/src/linux will stay as is after a kernel update.  If you don't   
   change the symlink, portage will not change it either (because of   
   USE="-symlink").
