   And yet Pat V dispatched sendmail to the wasteland of extra/.  :-)   
      
   Not that I can't install it from there.  But (as I recall) I was running   
   into some issues with my outgoing mail servers no longer accepting mail   
   that didn't have a "From:" address in their domain, and (almost) all of   
   them wanting authentication, and needing to configure things so that   
   sendmail or postfix or ... would attempt the correct form of authentication   
   with the right credentials depending on the email's "From:" address.   
   IIRC someone was able to set me on the straight and narrow for postfix, and   
   I wasn't having luck with sendmail, so over to the (supposedly) easier   
   postfix I went.
