   Skype is a "Tainted" piece of software. Closed source, closed binary,   
   penalties for looking. Thus many in th eLinux community would have you   
   shun it. And there are opensource programs that do what skype does   
   (although not with the same userbase). But that all means that yes, you   
   will have to get it elsewhere, like from Microsoft.
