   Hi.

   (site https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Installing_Java)

When installing Oracle JDK on OS 42.1, I found a problem installing the
rpm that I was unable resolve. So I did the "manual" install, file
   ....tar.gz.

Now, I saw that the instructions for the "manual" install are very outdated.
I could dig a little, but I decided first give rpm a new try.

   But I have a problem.

The instructions for JRE have some stuff that those for JDK don't. For
   example the plugins install.

When going down to the jdk part, they only refer to the rpm install,
   some gzips and update-alternatives.

   So,
Do I need to install jre and then jdk?
If only jdk, do I need to follow some of jre steps like plugins or
remove icedtea-web or just go strictly with JDK instructions?

Any other suggestions to install JDK are also welcome.

   Thank you.
