   That is definitely not normal.  Just for kicks, have you tried deleting   
   /var/tmp/kdecache-grinch?   
      
   Don't worry about deleting something valuable with it if you do, because   
   it'll be rebuilt upon the next login.  However, I have found that in   
   /some/ cases, it may remedy certain corruption.

   Try by deleting the cache first, as I suggested above.  Then at least   
   we'll know whether that was the root of the problem or not.   
      
   If the problem still persists, then try updating the system to the   
   latest stable versions of all packages, and add a few mirrors to your   
   package manager.  It is possible that, during an earlier update, only   
   part of the packages were downloaded due to a glitch at one of the repo   
   mirrors.  I've had a similar issue here with Google Chrome earlier this   
   week.   
      
   If the problem still persists after all of the above, then my best   
   advice would be that you file a bug report, because this seems like a   
   serious enough issue for the package wranglers to look into.
