   I also use networkmanager not wicked ,problem is solved using xfce to   
   change the networkmanager settings on different networks. That will do   
   for now.   
      
   I notice some KDE apps appear to run faster on xfce but I have no proof   
   of this.I have 4 gig of ram so if the memory usage is higher I will   
   probably get away with it.
