   My preferred command to do this is, again, YaST.   
      
   Fire the YaST package manager, view by repositories, select the R   
   repository, and on the right panel click on "switch system packages to   
   this repository". See if there are any conflicts and solve, probably   
   giving preference to the R repository. You should consider giving that   
   repo a lower priority number.
