The decision is yours.              If your system is complex, upgrade has advantages.              If you keep most things "home", it may not matter, just install the same       applications as needed.              I prefer to upgrade and keep the system services settings, adjusting       each as necessary. But I also do a small fresh install to test things       and compare. It is possible that something you need doesn't work, so       better find out ahead. I know someone with optimus hardware that can't       make it work.              Some people keep two system partitions and one home. Say they have 42.3       in one partition, and install 15.0 on another. They test, and when       satisfied, switch the default boot. A year in the future they'll install       15.1 in the other.                     There are some bugs affecting upgrades. If using the offline aka DVD       method you can not upgrade if you have a reiserfs partition. You get a       crash if there are encrypted partition. But it works with an online       upgrade aka zypper dup.              --       Cheers, Carlos.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
