   At what point does it stop? Does the kernel load?   
      
   My guess is it trying to mount the windows partition, which is   
   hibernated aka fast start mode and can not be done, so it halts. It   
   should leave you in emergency mode (text), but boots.   
      
   The cure is to disable fast boot in Windows, or to reboot windows   
   always, not power off.   
      
   Or alternatively, comment out the windows partition entries in the   
   /etc/fstab file or add the option "nofail" to them.
