   Thanks for your step by step. I discovered what I was doing wrong.  It   
   does work. I mounted the flash as SuperUser "root" on /mnt and proceeded   
   to use the graphic (user) Dolphin to do my testing. I believe it was   
   reading and writing to the /run/media....  mount NOT /mnt  mount.
