   Edit (or create) file .i18n. Mine is:

   # used by /etc/profile.d/lang.sh
   #CER - if it doesn't work edit /etc/profile.d/lang.sh, see Bugzilla 567324
   LC_TIME=en_DK.UTF-8
   LC_MONETARY=es_ES.utf8
   LC_NUMERIC=es_ES.utf8
   LC_PAPER=es_ES.utf8
   LC_TELEPHONE=es_ES.utf8
   LC_MEASUREMENT=es_ES.utf8
   LC_NAME=es_ES.utf8

   You need to at least log out and in.

   I don't know why gimp has trouble, but you know the drill: strace.

   strace --output=filename  gimp

   and find out what file it doesn't find.

   Huh, I don't know if gimp can work if the locale is "C". It needs utf-8.
