   It says it's using Wayland, although I could change that (persistently,   
   over a reboot)   
   My password no longer works (although the user account is correct)   
   I can't get to the machine (on my local network) using ping or ssh   
      
   After a few wrong-password attempts it is no longer accepting input.   
      
   Rebooting via the Reset button worked, but did not fix the "not   
   accepting input" problem.  At least I could input my password as a   
   Username and confirm that the keyboard is working correctly.   
      
   I can't even close the machine down cleanly.   
      
   I am not particularly happy with the way this has gone, luckily it's my   
   test/backup machine.  Going on holiday tomorrow so I have time for   
   inspiration to strike.
