   I'm doing something wrong as when I type "gq" inside of a gvim session, the

   2. Place cursor arbitrarily on a long line & press escape   
   3. gq   
      
   Nothing happens.   
      
   Now try selecting stuff.   
   1. Press escape & then select a long line paragraph with the mouse   
   2. gq   
      
   The whole paragraph disappears.   
      
   What am I doing wrong?
