   I recently booted a live Fedora and it easily recognized and embraced a   
   Canon Pixma printer connected via USB to a WinXP desktop on the same   
   network.   
      
   I had recently attempted that w/ a MX Workbench which is not 'rigged'   
   for desktop friendliness as much as admin tasks.  I would've needed to   
   know more samba than I normally use.
