    Would not "main branch" confer the same status as the   
   "master" and if it was a feminist they will not insist on   
   "Mistress Branch". Related branched could be termed "child branches'   
   and perhaps "cousin branches" but if you prefer your terminology   
   ignore anything anyone else has to say. If people get overly   
   insistent on their nomenclature then dissociate yourself from   
   them. Well if you are not an American-African then Negro might   
   do but call yourself what you please but Negro or Master   
   are not pronouns. So many people do publish their prefered   
   pronouns these days. I remember a few years ago the master-slave   
   designation for hard drives was the big kerfuffle.
