   Can you enlarge the fonts (or change the size) for text editors?   
   For example, gedit, geany, etc.   
   This change should also be reflected in IDEs: netbeans, code, phpstorm,   
   etc.: they are editors too (a little more complex).   
      
   I think some desktop environments have the "large fonts" option.   
   does mate have it?
