    The first upping of your credit by $35 was probably a normal recharge   
   and you paid data via a PAYG (Pay As You Go) charge, which normally is   
   very high per MB.   
      
    What you plan to do apparently is bying a 'data pack' of $35. That   
   should indeed be much cheaper per MB, i.e. $35 will give you more MB/GB   
   of mobile data than the first recharge.   
      
    BUT, all providers and 'plans' are different, so YMMV/YMWV.   
      
    BTW, who is your mobile provider (if different from your network) and   
   what is your 'plan'?
