   See if there is a Trial Version.   
      
   One of the main benefits of old scanners, is the CCD based   
   ones (instead of CMOS sensor) have better depth of field   
   and most of the scans done on them will be in focus.   
   I have trouble on my CMOS based scanner, getting   
   the paper pressed hard enough to the screen for   
   a focused copy.
