   Sounds like a workaround, not the cure. ;)   
   While in Windows go to the network adapter's properties in Device Manager   
   and try disabling its power management (e.g it's called "Allow the computer   
   to turn off this device to save power" in Windows 8.1).  And maybe also   
   enabling Wake on LAN.
