   You can try to send the files from Windows instead.   
      
   First step, is making sure the sshd daemon is running in Linux. I'm not   
   familiar with Mint, so somebody else can fill in.   
      
   Then, in Windows, install "WinSCP"   
   (). Use it to connect to the linux   
   machine using protocol sftp. You need to know the IP address of the   
   linux machine (run "ip addr" in a Linux terminal).   
      
   You will get a file browser with which to send files from Windows to   
   Linux (or the reverse).   
      
   Another interesting tool for Windows is MobaXTERM.
